Hospice Care

Music can calm anxiety, relieve pain, and bring comfort to those in hospice care. I use personalized, live and recorded music, combined with therapeutic techniques, to support the unique needs of patients and help families find meaningful moments of connection.

Techniques may include:

  • Drumming: Using the soothing sounds of an ocean drum to ground and relax a patient.
  • Improvisation: Guiding the patient to softly play notes on a xylophone, providing a safe, low-pressure outlet for expression.
  • Therapeutic singing: Helping patients manage discomfort by singing simple songs that shift focus to the music and lyrics.
  • Lyric analysis/song writing: Talking about a favorite song, or writing an original one, to encourage reminiscence, emotional expression, and life review.
