Individual and Developmental Disabilities

Music therapy empowers individuals with disabilities to connect, express, and reach personal goals. I use evidence-based music interventions including singing, movement, and improvisation—tailored to each client's unique needs, communication style, and sensory preferences for meaningful progress.

Examples of Music Therapy interventions to meet common therapeutic goals

  • Using improvisation or structured, turn-taking play to enhance communication and emotional expression.
  • Playing instruments to encourage hand-eye coordination and increase fine and gross motor movement.
  • Singing familiar songs to stimulate recall and encourage communication.
  • Utilizing rhythmic cues to improve walking, movement, and speech.
  • Creating or exploring song lyrics to identify feelings and work on cognitive flexibility.
  • Playing musical games that require attention, waiting, and cooperation in group settings.
